2009
Amongst the activities of the group during 2009, there were three visits to Catalonian castles that need to be emphasized.
The first visit was to Castellar de la Segarra, a medieval castle -almost totally abandoned- that is now in the process of being conssolidated. Mr Esquius, the architect in charge of the reconstruction and Mrs Percerises, a history specialist, commented the visit. We should say that Mr Esquius is now in charge of the rehabilitation of the Castellterçol castle.
The second visit was to the castles of Segarra de Montclar, Montsonis and Vicfred, all of them in the Segarra area as well. These three castles have been restored. We were accompanied in each cases by local guides.
The third castle visited was Púbol, the last residence of Gala and Dalí. We also visited the nearby fortified village of Peratallada.
Apart from these three visits, there were also other activities worth to mention:
On July 25th we had the traditional summer concert in the castle forest with a group of "jazz-gospel" music. There was an important public attendance.
On October 11, in the castle's chapel, we celebrated the annual "Aplec" (gathering) of Our Lady of Remei, with a Mass, "goigs" (songs), visit to the excavations and the traditional lottery called "La Dama i el Guinot" with prizes consisting of local pastries.
The day before the Aplec, there was a concert by young musicians organised with the collaboration of the Municipality.
We should also mention that in the spring of 2008 the local groups "Esbart Rosa d'Abril" (dance) and "Grup de Musica Barroca" (musicians) represented during two consecutive days the piece "Terçol", written on purpose for this occasion. We received economic help from the Municipality to pay for the expenses.
Finally, we are glad to explain that the institution "Catalunya Nostra" nominated the castle of Castellterçol as one of three Catalonian castles that excelled in the cultural and touristic activities during the year. The diploma was given in a ceremoni that took place at the "Llotja del Mar", in Barcelona.
