Josep Maria de Anzizu Foundation
The Foundation was initially established to foster the study and exchange of ideas on issues related to organisations (enterprises, associations, public entities etc) assuming that economic profitablity could be attained with respect for human and social aspects. This idea gave birth to the "Center for Organisational Studies" (COS), based in Barcelona but with an international, rather than local, focus. Every year or two COS has organised "Round Tables" attended by international esperts. One of them took place at the castle of Castellterçol in 2006 to discuss the topic of "governance". About twenty local and interntional professionals attended this Round Table.
COS is now part of the Business School EADA and has its own web page: www.cosbcn.com
Even though the emphasis of the foundation was initially related to organisational and managerial aspects, the bylaws mentioned the possibility of financing projects related to the village of Castellterçol and especially its castle. In 2008, COS became part of EADA and the bylaws were modified to emphasize Castellterçol and its castle as the main object of the foundation. The article nº 3 of the bylaws establishes the following:
Article 3. The main object of the foundation is to help promoting activities related to the education and the cultural and social development in general.
The foundation will also have as its objective acitivies related to the castle of Castellterçol, the village and its environment.
As far as the first objective is concerned, the foundation has an international scope. For the second, the foundation will develop its activites mainly in Catalonia.
The governance of the foundation is assured by a "Patronat" (board) that has the folloing members
Josep M de Anzizu, President
